Portugal’s coastal landscape boasts stunning beaches, such as the famous Praia da Marinha and the hidden gem of Benagil Cave. Inland, you’ll find picturesque cities like Lisbon, the capital, and the enchanting town of Sintra.For wine enthusiasts, Portugal has a renowned wine scene. Don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in a wine-tasting experience in the famous Port wine region.

But screw all that! We don’t always get nice things! Instead, you’ll get what I give you and that’s just Lisbon and Sintra, to be clear. Anyways, while planning your visit, you’ll be pleased to know that Portugal enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, making it a pleasant destination practically all year round.

Therefore, whether you’re looking for historical sites, stunning views, or a taste of Portuguese food and wine, Portugal offers it all within a few days. Hop from city to city, soak in the beauty, and create memories to last a lifetime.

I know I didn’t take my own advice. I went there and ordered French Tacos through Uber Eats. Have you ever had French tacos? If so, you already know I wasted my time in Lisbon committing such a deed. My tastebuds are still traumatized to this day. Don’t be like me! Read me instead!

Getting from Lisbon to Sintra

Next on the to-do list is Sintra. Fear not though, getting from Lisbon to Sintra is a breeze. To begin your journey, hop on the efficient metro system in Lisbon and head to Rossio or Oriente train stations. From there, take another quick and comfortable train ride to Sintra, which is only about 30 minutes away.

Once in Sintra, you’ll be greeted by a fairytale-like town filled with enchanting palaces, lush gardens, and rich history. To explore the town and its attractions, you can either walk or take the hop-on-hop-off tourist buses available near the train station.

To return to Lisbon, simply make your way back to the train station and catch the same train back to the city. These are good trains too, fully functioning, unlike my brain. And that’s facts cuz I almost fainted on the train for some reason. (The reason = French Tacos)

When you only have a few days in Portugal, you gotta make the most of a town like Sintra. That isn’t asking much though as it shouldn’t be hard. Known for its enchanting palaces and rich history, Sintra offers a truly magical experience.

One of the must-see attractions in Sintra is the famous Pena Palace. Situated atop a hill, this colorful palace offers breathtaking views of the surrounding region. Take a leisurely stroll around the palace and immerse yourself in its beauty and history.

While in Sintra, don’t miss the chance to explore the Moorish Castle either. Man, this stunning fortress provides panoramic views of the area and offers a glimpse into the town’s fascinating past. The fascination here is that there is a Moorish past. It’s not all that surprising. I mean, it’s Iberia! Why all know this right?

But, uh, back to professional speak now! The Sintra National Palace is another highlight, with its distinctive twin chimneys and impressive architecture. Take a step back in time as you wander through the rooms and learn about the palace’s history.

For a less popular but evenly unique experience, visit Quinta da Regaleira. This extraordinary estate is known for its mysterious underground tunnels and romantic gardens. Lose yourself like Eminem in the enchanting atmosphere as you explore the grounds.

Did you see what I did there? Eminem? Lose Yourself? I’m spilling all my own tea today hehe. ANd it’s from an awfully hot coffee pot.

You gotta compromise but do it in a way where you can still be fulfilled. If you ask me, cutting Portugal to Lisbon and Sintra is not gonna be everyone’s answer. Still, though it’s a mighty fine way to start.
